Theater Camp at Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts
YAV & the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts is partnering once again for Theatre Camp!
This year, campers will work with the theme “Hometown Hero’s.” Who’s a hero to you? Through movement, play and interactive games, campers will develop ideas and stories that they want to share and stories they want to hear. Creating all parts of the theatrical experience allows them the creativity to express themselves with full confidence. The stories come together, the ideas are written, recited and combined with movement and costume and lights. Campers entering first through sixth grades will experience it all and then bring it to the stage for a final extravaganza for the whole family.
YAV at the Virginia PTA Conference!
YAV staff had a wonderful time at the Virginia PTA Conference in Richmond! Great conversations were had on how to integrate families, schools and community partners and how to help enhance the work PTA’s are already doing at their schools. If you are a member of your school’s PTA, contact YAV for more information on how you can get involved with arts education!
