Young Audiences – Arts for Learning – Virginia provides innovative and creative educational opportunities by incorporating arts-in-education concepts into Summer Camps! Our camps for young artists are lead by YAV Teaching Artists that introduce core curriculum while helping campers explore how to develop their own personal narrative through the process of art-making and creating.
Last summer, YAV had the opportunity to integrate the arts into community life through several dynamic collaborations. We were proud to partner with d’Art Center, The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts and Downing-Gross Cultural Art Center for Summer Camp series. Through the camps, resident artists combine the arts with educationally relevant material to instruct students on topics such as how art historically changed the path of our communities or how they can go toe-to-toe with Albert Einstein as they learn to draw freely on their own imagination through concepts such as momentum, force and chemistry.
