Eastern Virginia Brass Trio

Art Forms: Music

View My Programs

About Me

The Eastern Virginia Brass has been an ensemble for more than 30 years. In that time they have excited audiences with the premier of a ballet for brass and dancers by Thomas Rice, a performance of American music opening the Kimball Theatre in Williamsburg and the inaugural recital in the theater of the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia in Virginia Beach. Most recently the group premiered a profound work by well-known composer Adolphus Hailstork as part of the Virginia Arts Festival. Several seasons ago the ensemble commissioned a work titled Threshold to America the work is a significant creation for brass quintet and narrator commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Jamestown Settlement. The EVB has been the proud recipient of grants from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
