Elizabeth “Liz” Acosta, Mezzo Soprano, Ecuadorian American singer has traversed a variety of stages in her extensive career. Ms. Acosta has appeared over 100 performances of Spanish Musicals and Zarzuela’s such as Luisa in “Luisa Fernanda” and Margarita in “Molinos de Viento” with the Repertorio Español, and Thalia Theatre. She has appeared in “Candide” at the Guthrie Theatre and then on to the Broadway Stage as Mother Superior in “Cyrano the Musical” and “Secret Garden” as Ayah and continued on the National Tour of the same show. Her most recent appearance was as Frau Blucher in “Young Frankenstein” in her new home state of Virginia.
Along with an active singing and acting career Ms. Acosta is also a voice over artist having voiced several recorded books and commercials. Elizabeth has taught at the Diller-Quaile School of Music and the Bloomingdale School of Music in New York and developed her own Early Childhood program: “Music in Me.” She is currently both voice and piano instructor at Ego School in Virginia Beach along with being a teaching artist with Young Audiences of Virginia. This work enables her to hopefully inspire young budding musicians to create a little magic for themselves making music!
