Joyful and engaging workshop presented by master percussionist, Gary ‘Juju’ Garlic. His dynamic performance style garnered him tours with musical legends like Stevie Wonder! In the classroom, this super-star will have students writing poetry to percussive rhythms, and learning multiple rhythm types based on their individual abilities. Teamwork is encouraged by placing students in groups of 4-6 to craft collaborative poetry paired with their selected rhythms. After building their percussive poetry routine “from the drum up”, each group closes this workshop with an opportunity to perform for their peers while teachers and Gary cheer them on!
