Virtual Performances, Workshops, Out-of-School Time, and Creative Family Programming
Despite the challenges presented by Covid-19, our mission continues to inspire us. We are determined to find innovative ways to connect children with arts experiences wherever – and however – their schooling is taking place.
If your school or other program is operating virtually, know that we are working directly with our teaching artists to develop, rehearse, and implement student-focused Virtual Arts Experiences to be available this fall.
Virtual Interactive Performances
Virtual Field Trips
|Add excitement to your student’s virtual school day! Arts for Learning’s virtual performances are designed as participatory one-time events that introduce students to an art form, while supporting a variety of curricular areas.
Just like our traditional in-school interactive performances, our unique virtual offerings are also designed to reinforce core curriculum topics, foster creative and critical thinking skills, and broaden student understanding of the world’s arts and cultures. Programs are available in a wide range of music, art, dance, and theater genres.
Schedule a virtual class for your students today!
|Arts for Learning’s virtual workshops allow students to work closely with a professional artist in an interactive virtual platform. Programs are 45 minutes and offered as back-to-back (repeating) workshops to serve more than one classroom. When available, workshops can also be added to follow an assembly program, reinforcing its content.
Examples of workshops may include inspiring student writing projects through creative journaling projects or exploring the local history of the Chesapeake Bay or the Underground Railroad; the possibilities are endless.
Often, it makes sense to have artists come back for several visits, making your workshop a residency. Click here to learn more about our residencies.
Three or more virtual classes with the same group of students!
|A virtual residency is a series of three or more virtual sessions with an artist, allowing for high level, in-depth work. Residency content is often customized based on curriculum needs, and each residency includes a planning meeting with the teaching artist.
Residencies can span weeks, months, or an entire school year to meet your budget and curriculum needs. If you have an idea for an area of your curriculum or you would like to enhance your work with an artist, email us or call our office at 757-466-7555.
We can help you design a virtual residency that will engage your students with a professional artist and bring learning to life.
